On the last day of the transfer market, Ismael Bennacer moved from Milan to Olymique de Marseille on a loan deal with an option to buy for a total of around 14-15 million euros.
Having arrived in France yesterday, the Algerian midfielder was presented to the French media today in a press conference.

Here are some of his statements:
"I have always been an OM fan since I was a child. When you live in Marseille or near Marseille (Arles is less than 100 kilometers away), there is no other club but OM. This is a really interesting project for me. When director Mehdi Benatia called me, I didn’t hesitate for a second, knowing that we had already been in contact this summer, it wasn’t something done at the last minute."
Bennacer added:
"I had time to think. I have always wanted to go through OM; it was in the back of my mind. I am really eager to wear the shirt."
On leaving Milan:
"I'm not here because Milan didn’t want me anymore or because they advised me to come. It was me who told my management that I wanted Marseille, and I am very happy to be here."
