Santiago Gimenez, the new striker and number 7 of Milan, spoke to SportMediaset, revealing the meaning behind the nickname "Bebote" and his choice to represent Mexico instead of Argentina:

"My family calls me 'Bebote' because I was young in age but physically very big," said Santiago. "So they started calling me that, also because one of my dad’s friends, a commentator, once said 'Goal by Bebote' when I scored, and from that moment on, everyone started calling me 'El Bebote'."
On choosing to represent Mexico instead of Argentina, Gimenez said:
"I was born in Argentina, my parents are Argentine, but I had to move to Mexico when I was 3 or 4 years old. My entire childhood was in Mexico, where my friends are, where my memories are, and where I started playing football. All my memories are in Mexico, and that's why I made the decision to play for Mexico."
