The red card against Feyenoord risks having a significant impact on Theo Hernandez's future.

Where has that dominant player gone, the one who, over the last five years, relentlessly charged up and down the left flank in Serie A?
Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this question, though Milan would certainly like to find one. After all, we're talking about a player who has left his mark on the club's recent history—both on a personal level (the highest-scoring defender in Milan’s Serie A history) and in terms of team success (2022 Scudetto, 2025 Supercoppa).
Perhaps, however, yesterday’s red card could serve as a wake-up call for Theo Hernandez, whose future at Milan is anything but certain at this point. In fact, Il Corriere della Sera reports that the Frenchman’s adventure with the Rossoneri is likely to come to an end at the conclusion of this season, and the fact that Milan had even agreed to sell him to Como last January only reinforces this notion.
At the same time, though, Theo Hernandez is waiting for and wants a contract renewal. But at this point, he must start truly earning it on the pitch—because only then might Milan reconsider their stance on the 27-year-old.
