Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, commented on some market rumors, such as the alleged interest of the Nerazzurri in AC Milan's forward João Félix:
"Rumors are mainly tied to the activities of agents who, when they need to move a player, make phone calls—a lot of them. It’s normal that when you have an important player like Asensio or João Félix… I’ll anticipate it myself: I’m responding to those who said that Inter had started negotiations for João Félix. These are opportunities that the market makes available, and agents, having to work and show their clients that they are making an effort to find opportunities, also call Inter."

Inter's director, Ausilio, added:
"We have always told everyone that we were fine as we were in attack. Then, if there had been some departures, as in every department, we would have considered what solution the market could offer to complete the squad as we had in mind—always returning to the well-known idea of a squad with two players per position, absolutely competitive, which we believe was how Inter was built this season and also last season."
