Paulo Fonseca is in serious trouble.
The current Olympique Lyon coach and former Milan manager nearly got into a brawl with the referee during the home match against Brest (which the hosts eventually won 2-1, ed.), and now he risks a seven-month suspension.

Footage captured by French cameras shows the coach getting just millimeters away from the referee’s face and threatening him aggressively, though the official remained in control of the situation.
At the end of the match, Fonseca attended the press conference to declare: "I just want to say that I apologize for this gesture. I shouldn’t have done it, but football sometimes makes us act improperly. I shouldn’t have behaved like that. Honestly, I just want to say that I’m sorry. I won’t go into details." This was relayed via the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is not the first time this season that the coach has spoken this way about refereeing—see Atalanta vs. Milan.
