The great chaos surrounding Milan in the 2024-25 season has led to an initial secondary consequence.

The spokesperson for Sérgio Conceição, the man at the center of the latest revelations dominating the headlines, has resigned, issuing a statement to explain his decision:

"None of the points were validated by coach Sérgio Conceição, nor are they binding on him as a professional. Due to the mistake made and the damage caused to his reputation, I hereby immediately resign from my position."

What happened with Conceicao's spokesperson, Francisco Empis?

Conceição’s spokesperson, Francisco Empis, sent messages to Italian journalists yesterday regarding the coach’s dissatisfaction with Milanello’s facilities (not up to the standards of a top club), the team's athletic preparation under Fonseca, the insufficient commitment of some players, and, above all, the lack of support from the management. This included the absence of a clear direction in the technical project (delays in the transfer market, the lack of a "bad cop" in player relations, and unclear role assignments) and an absentee owner in Gerry Cardinale, who has been away from Milan for several months for reasons never publicly explained.

The resignation does not come as a surprise, as Conceição had already distanced himself from the remarks yesterday: “I am suffering greatly because of Milan’s current situation, but none of what has been reported about me is true,” he told Gazzetta. “The club is always present, and I know that the club is with me.”

In his statement, the coach’s spokesperson apologizes to Conceição and Milan, but not before making some clarifications:

"The published information contains several errors and inaccuracies, particularly concerning the relationships between team members, the coaching staff, and Milan’s management. They do not reflect the truth of the facts but rather unfounded rumors and assumptions."

Thus, at least on the surface, a chapter appears to be closed, filed away as a misunderstanding or an individual initiative. However, Milan’s problems remain unresolved, and tomorrow in Lecce, they won’t simply disappear. The feeling is that, in such a situation, anything could happen.
