The Quotidiano Sportivo newspaper on newsstands this morning headlines about Milan:
"Pulisic Factor. Now the Rossoneri wants to lock him down."
The American forward, after a few underwhelming performances, was decisive once again on Saturday in Lecce with a brace that took his season tally to 14 goals, making him Milan’s top scorer ahead of Reijnders (12 goals).
The former Chelsea player, along with the Dutchman, has been one of the most consistent performers for the Rossoneri and has often led the team. Now, Milan is aiming to extend his contract until 2029 as soon as possible. Talks between the parties are well advanced, and a final agreement, along with his signature, is expected soon.
After Milan’s comeback win against Lecce, Pulisic told Milan TV: "This is a very important victory; it gives us a lot of confidence in this difficult moment. It was a tough period for me as well—I always want to score, but recently, that hasn’t happened.
This match reflects our season: we play well, create five or six chances, but then they take one shot and score. But I always believed we could win the game, even when we were 2-0 down."
