The journalist Paolo Condò joined Sky Sport 24 via video link to discuss and comment on Italy's match against Germany, which ended in defeat for the Azzurri. He focused particularly on one of the main issues facing Luciano Spalletti's team:
"Italy lacks a great attacking midfielder. They don't have a Musiala, a Wirtz, a Bellingham, or a Dani Olmo. Italy has excellent mezzali, like Barella and Tonali."
The solution, though not yet ready, could be a former AC Milan player...
"When I watch Daniel Maldini play, he does things that make me think: if he could do them for 90 minutes instead of just sporadically, what level would he reach? It would be a very high level. In my opinion, Daniel Maldini will play in European competitions next season, and with a full European campaign, he will raise his technical level. I see a lot of qualities in him, but only for two or three plays per match—whereas the players I mentioned earlier produce 15 per game."
