After spending the last few days in Dubai for some commercial meetings, Giorgio Furlani, the Rossoneri CEO, will resume the casting process to find the new sporting director, a figure seen as fundamental for the new organizational structure of the club. After the departures of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, Milan has felt the absence of a director capable of providing daily support to the team and coach at Milanello.

New meetings among Milan managers?
As reported this morning by Tuttosport, in recent weeks, Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have already held meetings in London with some potential candidates. However, the matter is now in Furlani’s hands, who, starting next week, will resume contacts with those who could become Milan’s new sporting director. At the moment, three profiles are in the front row: Fabio Paratici, Igli Tare, and Tony D'Amico. The first two are currently without a club, while the third is at Atalanta, meaning that before accepting Milan’s offer, he would first have to free himself from the Bergamasco club. However, surprises and other candidates—particularly from abroad—should not be ruled out.
Fabio Paratici is AC Milan's favourite...
For now, the favorite is Paratici, despite the suspension he received at the beginning of 2023 for the Juventus capital gains case, which will sideline him until July. But things could still change; everything will depend on the face-to-face meetings the various candidates will have with Furlani in the coming weeks. This is an important—indeed, fundamental—choice for Milan's future, especially since the new sporting director will also be responsible for selecting the next coach, another decision that must not be wrong.
