The week leading up to Napoli-Milan begins today, but the coming days will also be important for another reason in the Rossoneri camp: the casting process for the role of the new sporting director will in fact get underway, with Milan's CEO Giorgio Furlani set to make the final decision. In particular, the Rossoneri executive will meet Fabio Paratici between today and tomorrow, who, according to many, is currently the strong favorite to join the club's organizational structure.

This was reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, which adds that one of the first decisions the new sporting director will have to make concerns who will be on Milan's bench next season. The list of names in circulation is constantly changing, something that Sergio Conceição himself has complained about in recent hours, as he still hopes for confirmation:
"After the Supercoppa, we drew against Cagliari due to an individual mistake. Since then, every day, new coaches have been linked to the club," said the Rossoneri coach at the Coimbra Football Congress 2025.
The Portuguese manager also commented on the difficulties he has encountered since arriving at Milan:
"In 30 days, we have played 9 matches, we haven’t had time to train, and that makes it difficult to give the team an identity."
Conceição further explained the reasons behind his decision to accept the Rossoneri’s offer last December:
"I wanted to go to one of the strongest leagues in the world. I have the dream and the goal of winning the Champions League, which is why I said yes to Milan. I was aware of the difficulties I would face, in a context where I was not the one choosing the players, but I have the obligation to win."
The Milan coach hopes that winning the Coppa Italia and securing a Champions League spot will be enough to earn him confirmation on Milan’s bench for next season.
