This evening at 20:45, Milan is set to face Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium. Napoli, currently three points behind league leaders Inter, is chasing crucial points to keep their Scudetto dream alive. On the other hand, the Rossoneri must believe until the very end in their fight for a Champions League spot, which currently appears quite challenging.
As reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, Milan finds itself playing a "double match" in this final stretch of the season.
The newspaper headlines its sports section with:
"Champions League and Sporting Director: Milan is playing for everything."
On one side, there’s the Champions League race: Milan sits nine points behind fourth-placed Bologna, with several teams like Roma and Juventus standing in their way. All three of those rivals won their respective matches yesterday, increasing the pressure on Conceição’s squad.
At the same time, the club is engaged in the search for a new sporting director. The leading candidate remains Fabio Paratici, who was spotted in Milan yesterday after having lunch with De Zerbi’s agent (read more here). However, CEO Furlani is taking his time and wants to evaluate other candidates like Tare or D’Amico, with discussions set to resume in May.
