Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking on Sky Sport Italia, spoke about the future of Milan’s bench, mentioning another profile on the Rossoneri's management list besides the usual names of De Zerbi, Conte, and Allegri:
"Paratici has been chosen; it now needs to be formalised. Not everything is to be discarded—it will obviously be necessary to understand what the sporting director’s and coach’s direction will be."

"And regarding the coach, in addition to the names that are daily linked to Milan’s bench, I would also add Vincenzo Italiano because he is a coach greatly appreciated by the Rossoneri management and by Furlani. He is definitely on the Rossoneri club’s list—I don’t know in what position, but he is liked at Via Aldo Rossi. And I believe he deserves it for what he has done at Fiorentina and Bologna. Bologna chose him to replace Thiago Motta, who was not easy to succeed."
He continued to talk about Italiano:
"He has a two-year contract with Bologna club, and talks for a renewal have not yet begun. I don’t think Italiano would want to start the season with just one year left on his contract. We’ll see if a big club like Milan or Roma considers him. We’ll see if Paratici also puts forward his name or if he opts for other profiles. In any case, Italiano’s name is appreciated within the Milan club."
