The sporting director and the coach of the future Milan will be Italians, but the team will also have a significant core of Italian or potentially Italian players. This is because the managers have understood that only in this way can the solid foundation necessary to win the championship be created.

Just like what happened in the past with the Rossoneri of Sacchi, Capello, and Ancelotti, but also with Juventus under Conte, Allegri, and Sarri, or with the current Inter. It won’t be easy to insert Italians into the squad of the future because those who already have them try to hold on to them or sell them for significant amounts. However, the club directors have made their choice, and in the coming months, they will try to place the pieces of the puzzle in the right places. The new sporting director will bring his ideas, the coach will provide instructions, but meanwhile, at the Milan headquarters, Furlani, Moncada, and Ibrahimovic are keeping the list of targets updated based on who will sit on the bench.
Chiesa, Orso, and Lucca for Milan...
For the attack, there are three names circled in red. Not all of them will come, but they are operations being closely monitored. Federico Chiesa, for whom inquiries were made last summer before his move to Liverpool, can become an idea again, as he has remained on the margins with the Reds so far and wants to be a protagonist next season to make it to the World Cup. Riccardo Orsolini and Lorenzo Lucca were also explored in the last winter market, although it was clear the target was Santiago Gimenez at the time. Their names are still relevant: Orsolini is a winger with quality and goals who could allow Pulisic to play continuously as an attacking midfielder; Lucca, on the other hand, would be an alternative to the Mexican if Abraham is not bought from Roma. The Bologna winger and the Udinese striker have significant evaluations: Orsolini’s price could be lowered by including Pobega’s card in the deal; the Udinese club managers, however, start from a base of at least 35 million euros for their striker. Too much, but...
Abraham and Roma
Let’s return for a moment to the English player on loan, who is not guaranteed to be bought due to his high salary. While in recent weeks he has shown some important signs (especially his goal in the derby on Wednesday), he has not shone for consistency throughout the rest of the season. Roma, the owners of Abraham’s contract, have Saelemaekers on loan from Milan and want to keep him due to the excellent performances from the Belgian. If the new coach does not ask for Abraham’s confirmation, the negotiation with the Friedkin club can continue with an alternative technical counterpart. Which one? Bryan Cristante, who was already explored in January, or Lorenzo Pellegrini, who does not intend to renew his contract expiring in 2026. Cristante would be eligible for the UEFA list, provided Milan participates in European competitions, as a product of the Rossoneri youth sector. In midfield, the situation of Davide Frattesi is also being monitored: if the former Sassuolo player decides to leave Inter in search of more playing time, Milan will be ready.
Udogie and Comuzzo
Finally, attention is on the defensive department. In case Theo Hernandez leaves, a new starting left-back will need to be found: Destiny Udogie is liked, but Tottenham is not an easy club to negotiate with. Paratici, if he takes over the Rossoneri sporting area, already signed him for Spurs in 2022 and is very fond of him. Regarding the central defender position: Diego Coppola from Verona is considered an interesting prospect, but one who still needs to mature. A player to invest in, although younger than the Verona player, is Pietro Comuzzo, whom Fiorentina values at 40 million euros.
