With the Fabio Paratici option falling through, Giorgio Furlani has once again dived into the search for Milan's new sporting director.
As has been said multiple times over the past few weeks, this is a decision that cannot be gotten wrong, which is why the Rossoneri club is taking all the time available to evaluate the various candidates.

At the moment, no deadline has been set, but the impression is that by the end of the month, we will know the name of Milan's new sporting director. According to Il Corriere dello Sport this morning, Milan is very interested in the profile of Tony D’Amico. The current sporting director of Atalanta could even be Giorgio Furlani’s first choice, if not for the fact that he will have to continue working for the Bergamo club at least until the end of the season. This is a key factor for the Rossoneri, who no longer have any intention of wasting time.
There is a need to restart, immediately, which is why the candidacy of Igli Tare, always a favorite of RedBird’s Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimović, is gaining more and more traction. The former Lazio man is currently the favorite for the role of Milan’s sporting director, not only because he is an experienced executive who has done well in Italy, but also because Tare is free of any contractual obligations, an essential factor in this situation. Timing could lead Milan to lean more toward him than toward D’Amico.
Back in 2019, Tare had already been contacted by Paolo Maldini for the role of sporting director at Milan.
At the time, however, the Albanian was tied to a contract with Lazio and the deal never materialized. A few years later, the Albanian could finally arrive at Milan, and with him, the Rossoneri will need to rebuild after a season that fell well short of expectations—starting with the choice of the new head coach.
