An offensive banner directed at Milan's goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, was displayed last night near the Bluenergy Stadium, presumably by Udinese supporters, two days before the Serie A match against the Rossoneri. The banner, as reported by ANSA, read "Maignan man of s..."; it was later removed.
It is worth recalling that during the match in January of last year, a small group of Udinese fans behind the French goalkeeper had uttered racist remarks against him; the other fans present had not noticed what was happening. The Udinese ultras accuse Maignan of labeling the entire Curva Nord as racist.
For that incident, thanks to the cross-referencing of stadium security cameras, the police of the 'Friuli' capital were able, within hours of the event, to identify the perpetrators of the serious racist insults: four people, three men and one woman, aged between 32 and 45, for whom the prefect of Udine had issued a five-year Daspo. The sports justice, as Ansa further recalls, had imposed the playing of two home matches without fans in the Curva Nord.
