Manuele Baiocchini, journalist at Sky Sport, provided an update directly from Casa Milan earlier today regarding a hot topic currently stirring the Rossoneri environment: the ongoing meeting in Rome between Giorgio Furlani, the club’s current CEO, and Igli Tare, former sporting director of Lazio.
“There was a meeting in Rome between Giorgio Furlani, Milan’s CEO, and Igli Tare, former sporting director of Lazio. It was a very positive meeting that lasted more than four hours—starting in the late morning and continuing through lunch into the afternoon. During these many hours, a comprehensive discussion took place on what needs to be done to relaunch and rebuild Milan starting from next season, including the coaching situation. This was not a decisive meeting that led to a final agreement between Tare and Milan. But that’s only because it was the first time Giorgio Furlani met Tare in person. There had been a meeting in early March in London between Ibrahimovic, Cardinale, and Tare, which was followed by phone contact between Furlani and Tare. Today they met in person for the first time and hit it off: Milan appreciated Tare’s mindset and working approach as a former sporting director of Lazio, and it’s likely that the feeling was mutual—Tare seems enthusiastic about potentially taking on this role.”

The Sky journalist continued to talk about the Tare-Milan meeting:
“There will be internal discussions at Milan in the coming hours and days. The decision will be made by everyone involved in the club’s management: Furlani, Ibrahimovic, and the owner Cardinale, who will have the final say in this decision. From what’s emerging, it seems to be heading toward a positive outcome, suggesting that Igli Tare should—or could—be the next sporting director of Milan. Of course, many things have happened at Milan lately—sudden changes and surprises. For instance, when we thought Fabio Paratici might become the new sporting director, it all fell apart. So we remain a bit cautious, but everything is pointing toward Tare becoming the new Sporting Director."
