During the usual appointment with the Sky Calcio Club program, former footballer Riccardo Montolivo spoke about Milan, commenting on the convincing victory that Sergio Conceição's team achieved on Friday evening in Udine against Kosta Runjaic's Udinese. With an unprecedented 3-4-2-1 formation, the Rossoneri gave the impression not only of having much more balance, but also of being solid in defense. This was the thought of the former Milan captain:

"Milan defended well, and in my opinion, in an intelligent way they created the conditions to enhance their qualities. So Leao, Theo, Reijnders, Pulisic, they need space. So beyond the formation, which obviously helps you to stay deeper, inevitably, it's really the idea of saying: OK, even if it's Udinese, I’ll wait for them a bit deeper, I’ll even let them have the ball a little, and I’ll get ready to shine. And this didn’t happen in the past."
Montolivo continues to talk about Milan's victory:
"Now all coaches want to dominate matches, but if you have players who are counter-attackers, players who need space — create the conditions for that. The match in Madrid was built on these conditions. So Conceição was intelligent to prepare it this way."
