Francesco Letizia, journalist for Sportitalia, expressed himself this way on his YouTube channel regarding the choice of AC Milan’s new sporting director:
"If Milan goes to Rome to talk with Tare and then, when they return to Milan, Tare isn’t made official, what kind of game are we playing?! If during the four or five hours of the meeting, one of the most emphasized concepts is that, in the end, it’s CEO Furlani who decides, that Moncada stays there as a scout, that Ibrahimovic can drop by every now and then because he’s the advisor to the ownership and is important—then what changes?! Nothing really changes. What kind of autonomy will the sporting director have? I hope this impression of the 'Leopard' is overcome by the facts and the personality of Igli Tare, if the sporting director ends up being Igli Tare."
Leitizia continued to talk about Milan's situation:
"If that’s not the case, then it would mean that nothing has changed: if all final decisions always go through Furlani, and not just for the sake of signing or financial control, if the technical decisions always go through Moncada, if Ibra is the one talking to the team, undermining the authority of the sporting director—then what’s the point of bringing him into the club?! Certain things need to be clarified already during the presentation. This isn’t a whim of journalists, but a matter of a role that demands a certain level of autonomy."
