On the occasion of his 50th birthday, La Gazzetta dello Sport interviewed Stefano Fiore, who looked back on his career starting from his debut at Parma:
"It was 1994. I arrived in Emilia and felt out of place, even though I was training with the first team. Then Scala had the courage to throw me onto the pitch against Genoa. He had seen something in me. He was an important coach. Parma secured my rights in a blind auction... I celebrated with the two UEFA Cups. I played the return leg in one of them, the 1998 one, for 20 minutes. There was a lot of competition at Parma."
Who do you see in Serie A today as the 'new Fiore'?
"I’d say Reijnders. He's very technical, can do many things, and today he’s the most complete midfielder in Serie A."
