With his departure from Real Madrid now almost certain, what will the future hold for Carlo Ancelotti? There is talk of a possible return to Italy, with the benches of Milan and Roma being mentioned, although for now these are just mere suggestions. Regarding this, Arrigo Sacchi explained to La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"I don’t know what Carletto will want to do. It seems to me that the Brazilian Football Federation has been after him for a while, and the possibility of coaching at a World Cup with the Seleção is tempting. In any case, if I were an executive at Milan or Roma, I would make a phone call to Carletto: it costs nothing."

Sacchi on how he would see Ancelotti's potential return to Milan replied:
"Ancelotti is a treasure of world football—do you really think he would have trouble fitting into a reality like Milan’s, which he knows very well, by the way? He would be perfect to handle a delicate phase, to help many players understand what it means to be part of a club like Milan. For Carlo, football is an open book: there are no secrets—or if there are, he knows them all. Yes, Milan should definitely make a call to Ancelotti. It would be a sensational return that could only help the Rossoneri at this moment."
