Geoffrey Moncada, Rossoneri technical director, spoke to Mediaset in the pre‑match build‑up to Inter–Milan, the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi‑final. Here are his statements.
The importance of this trophy, also a gateway to Europe:
“It’s a nice derby. We’re in the semi‑final; reaching the final is important for us: it’s a match at Champions League level against Inter.”
Is the club protecting Sergio Conceição?
“We work with him every day, we’re at Milanello with him and Zlatan every day. We speak every day with his staff. We’re with him, for us there are no problems: we’re happy with Sergio and with how he works to return to a more important level.”

Would two trophies be enough for confirmation? Moncada replied:
“Two trophies would be very important; it’s been a long time since we won the Coppa Italia—22 years.”
On the renewals of Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan:
“We’re working every day, with agents and players. We speak every day with them. We’re very focused on the end of the season; I don’t think it’s the right moment. We talk with the agents and we’re with the players every day.”
Milan with a 3–4–3... Moncada commented:
“I think Milan worked on this system during the March break. Now we can have other options: full‑backs higher up, a more compact defense, a system that gives the players a lot of freedom. Even Stefano Pioli played with three at the back two years ago, when we won against Tottenham: it’s to give the team more balance.”
