During Viva El Futbol, former footballer and pundit Lele Adani shared a reflection on Luka Jovic, the man of the moment at AC Milan after having remained on the fringes of the squad for the entire season.
Here are his full statements:
"If my name is Luka Jovic, I don't go to the bench and I don't put myself behind anyone. He's a footballer still in the midst of his career who probably still has to fully discover his technical and mental strength. He’s had ups and downs, but the boy has connections to the game, the touches, and above all a high-level understanding of the penalty area. And if you compare him with Milan’s other strikers, you don't automatically place him behind anyone. The rest comes from him: his desire to improve, his willingness to raise the bar of performance, his openness to challenge himself beyond the stages of his career."
Then Adani reiterated and concluded:
"Wednesday was a key moment in his career: scoring two decisive goals in a Coppa Italia semifinal. Just think, on the other side there was Taremi, who would have been the player Milan wanted: not signing him, they went for Jovic. If my name is Luka Jovic and my fellow attackers are: Abraham and Santi Gimenez just arrived from the Dutch league, I don’t go to the bench and I don’t put myself behind anyone."
