"New sporting director, timeline extended"
This is the headline of La Gazzetta dello Sport on newsstands this morning regarding Milan’s search for a new executive to be added to the club’s organizational chart.
Leading the casting process personally is Giorgio Furlani, who is conducting a series of interviews, but the decision on the person to entrust with the role is not imminent. The CEO intends to carefully consider the choice and identify the right person.

In recent weeks, he has met twice with Igli Tare, who is currently free and could start working for Milan immediately, but the white smoke is not so close. For this reason, other candidates remain in the running, although they are currently tied to other clubs: they are Tony D’Amico (Atalanta), Giovanni Manna (Napoli), and Giovanni Sartori (Bologna).
There is, however, another possible scenario according to the Italian newspaper: it cannot be ruled out 100%, in fact, that if the right profile is not identified (or available), the current structure may remain unchanged.
