At Casa Milan, there are several priorities at the moment, including the contract renewals of some top players. While everything is practically settled for Christian Pulisic—with only the signature missing—the situation is much more complicated for Theo Hernandez who, like Mike Maignan, has a contract expiring in 2026. After weeks of stand-by, talks between the parties have resumed, and Milan has made an offer, but it is lower than his current salary.

Reduced offer?
As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club is aiming to extend the French full-back’s contract to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer and to regain some negotiating power. Without a renewal, a summer departure is the most likely scenario, though it would still require a substantial offer—after all, we're talking about one of the best left-backs in the world. However, his performances this season have been rather disappointing, even if he seems to have slightly improved in recent weeks. A below-par season inevitably has consequences: Milan’s offer is lower than his current salary (€4.5 million).
A signature is coming:
While the situation with Theo remains uncertain, the new contract for Christian Pulisic—valid until 2029—is expected to be signed very soon. Unlike the Frenchman, the American forward has had a highly positive season and scored his 16th goal of the campaign on Sunday in Venice. Overall, since joining Milan in the summer of 2023, his numbers have been impressive: with 31 goals and 19 assists, he has reached 50 goal contributions—a milestone that in the last two seasons has only been matched in Serie A by Lookman (also 50) and Lautaro (ahead with 54). For this reason, his salary increase is more than deserved: Pulisic will go from earning €4 million to €5 million.
