Interviewed by Il Secolo XIX, Genoa's Mexican defender Johan Vásquez, one of the most positive surprises in Patrick Vieira’s team, touched on several topics, starting with his future:
“The fans want me to stay? That’s my wish too. I’m very happy here, and so is my family. But first, we want to finish the season well. Then we’ll see what happens.”

The final challenge is to beat a top club?
“We’re facing four teams that still have something to fight for. We have to maintain the same attitude we’ve shown so far: give everything, fight, and play without fear. Now we’ve got AC Milan, we have nothing to lose. They’re in good form, but everyone knows that playing at the Ferraris is tough.”
On coach Patrick Vieira:
“He’s an excellent coach. He brought balance and more stability to the team during a difficult period. Above all, he gave us the confidence we were lacking, that’s exactly what we needed. The coach made me feel like a leader of this team.”
100 appearances with Genoa?
"It fills me with pride. And the same goes for becoming the Mexican with the most matches played in Serie A."
