Patrick Vieira, coach of the Genoa, was interviewed by DAZN after the loss against AC Milan. Here are his statements:
Yet another great performance by Genoa against a top team, but the result didn’t come:
“I believe we played 75 minutes at a high level. We played a match with intensity and discipline. We had prepared it well. I'm sorry, we deserved more, we played an important match. We deserved at least a point tonight. When you see that Maignan was Milan’s number one, it means we played the right kind of match. We lacked a bit of focus, and we suffered physically in the last 15 minutes.”
On the season finale, Vieira said:
“I asked the players to take the responsibility of finishing the season well, that we are a real team and that everyone works properly. The match we played tonight shows that we have a group that takes responsibility and wants to finish well. We wanted to win for our fans, but in terms of attitude, we did what we wanted to do. Unfortunately, Milan has too much individual quality, which made the difference.”
