Giorgio Furlani's words to Sky and DAZN before Milan-Bologna sounded almost like a step back compared to those of April 2, when the Rossoneri CEO explained that Milan was considering appointing a traditional sporting director.
The CEO then added that the club, while waiting to see whether or not this figure will be added to the organizational chart, "is already taking care of the transfer market."

According to Libero this morning, all of this risks being a sensational own goal: if Furlani hinted that he is not convinced by any of the candidates met so far, perhaps the doubts are mutual. In the article signed by Claudio Savelli, the question is raised whether it's actually the various sporting directors who are unwilling to become part of a Milan that works in this way.
There is the impression that this positive end to the season, while waiting to see how the Coppa Italia final will go, is giving the Rossoneri executives the illusion that they have done a good job: the potential two trophies should instead highlight their mistakes, since with a few more right choices the team could have competed for far more important goals. And instead, the risk is that if the second trophy arrives, the executives might convince themselves that they bear only marginal blame in what has been an extremely negative season.
