Milan, Reijnders in doubt? The Rossoneri also fall in the Coppa Italia and practically end the season in the worst possible way.

For the Rossoneri, two games remain to hope for at least a qualification to the Conference League, but there remains a bitter reflection considering the importance of the club. As of today, this Milan is the eighth-strongest team in Serie A, a team that fails to beat Dinamo Zagreb and Feyenoord in the Champions League in crucial matches. Everything has been a failure in a disastrous season that could leave residues even in the summer.

Dangerous rumors are already starting to circulate about possible major sales by Milan. The last thing a Rossoneri fan would want to hear right now.

Milan, selling Reijnders would be a dangerous signal: here’s why

Among the players Milan will have to defend from summer attempts is certainly Tijjani Reijnders.
The Dutch midfielder is one of Milan’s pillars and must remain so in the future as well.
Tiji, according to various transfer market rumors, is said to have ended up in the sights of two European top clubs: Manchester City and Real Madrid, as pointed out by PianetaMilan.it.

Figures are being talked about exceeding 70 million euros—certainly a very high price—but much of the club’s future and the ownership’s ambition could be reflected in how this negotiation is handled. The club might accept such a figure, which would guarantee a huge capital gain.

Selling an absolute top player of Reijnders' caliber would be a huge mistake and a very dangerous and negative signal for Milan’s future. The club did well to find the Dutchman after selling another pillar like Tonali—but then what? Musah and Loftus-Cheek have not delivered as hoped, and it is by no means certain that another player of Reijnders’ level will be found—quite the opposite.
For this reason, if Milan truly wants to win and compete in the future, it will have to hold firm and not fall into temptation again.
