On the occasion of the “Play for the Future” event by Fondazione Milan, FIGC, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Justice, held at the Teatro Puntozero Beccaria, AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni spoke to the journalists present. These were his statements, as collected by our correspondent:
“Today I’m here to expand on an initiative we launched two and a half years ago. It’s a project that aims to use sport as a tool for the social reintegration of young people. Until now, we have worked in three cities: Naples, Catania, and Palermo, targeting young people who are serving alternative sentences, meaning those who are not in juvenile detention centers. Starting this year, we’re also launching the project in Milan, and we’re extending it to include youths in penal institutions like Beccaria. So the initiative has been very successful, and we’ve been asked to expand it, which we’re happy to do."
Scaroni added:
"For Fondazione Milan, it’s more of an organizational effort than a financial one, and it delivers extremely important results in a sector — that of juvenile detention and sentencing — which greatly needs intervention. So we are very proud to have been the initiators and to have the support of the FIGC as well. It’s a great outcome with a small financial investment but a large organizational commitment — which is what we contribute.”

On the work of Fondazione Milan, Scaroni said:
“Fondazione Milan does many things. Over the past 20 years, we have invested 12 million euros, always in social initiatives, both in Italy and abroad. Always with the same goal: to use sport as a tool to help bring hope to vulnerable communities. For example, here in Milan and around the city, we have built six football pitches in some of the more challenging neighborhoods. We make the fields with synthetic grass so they don’t require maintenance: by doing so, we immediately create a gathering and recreational place that changes the neighborhood’s landscape. I almost always attend the inaugurations, and every time I return home happy about what we’ve done.”
A comment on Boban’s words?
“Can you imagine me listening to that?”
Are you disappointed about the end of the season?
“No, no, no, no. Let’s not talk about football. The agreement was not to talk about football, right?”
