Former defender Alessandro Costacurta, speaking to Sky Sport on the sidelines of a padel-related event in Milan, shared his thoughts on the end of the Serie A season and the crisis affecting his Milan:
“Inter missed an opportunity last night. I think there’s regret among the fans and the players. We all thought they wouldn’t have a chance, but they actually did — and didn’t take it. Now everything is more difficult. Looking at the matches, there are few people betting on Inter with 90 minutes left to play.”
On Inter’s Champions League final, Costacurta commented:
"I’ve been through it, and I believe that when from the beginning everyone keeps talking only about the Champions League, it inevitably becomes the primary goal. In my opinion, it always has been for Inter. Right now, the Nerazzurri are thinking only about the Champions League — it seems clear to me.”

On Milan’s crisis:
“I also once finished ninth and once tenth — it was very unpleasant, but it can happen. I believe the Milan directors and players put in the effort this year, and that, honestly, is what worries me the most. In January, Milan invested well and brought in important players, yet the results didn’t come. Getting back to being competitive like this becomes difficult. The choice of sporting director will be the most important one — the club needs someone who knows football," as relayed via Milannews.it.
On which coach he’d like to see at Milan, Costacurta said:
“I’d like to see a Milan that presses the opponent in the other half of the pitch, both at home and away. I’m thinking of a Milan in the style of... Atalanta” (he smiles). “This year, Milan lacked many things — attitude above all.”
