At the Rossoneri headquarters, the search for the new sporting director continues, with the casting process having been underway for several weeks already. As explained this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, currently leading the race appears to be Lee Congerton, former Atalanta executive now in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli, but other solutions cannot be ruled out — such as Igli Tare, who has already met twice with Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani. Also not to be ruled out a priori are solutions tied to executives who are currently under contract with other clubs, like Tony D’Amico (Atalanta), Giovanni Manna (Juventus), and Giovanni Sartori (Bologna).

In the past few hours, a new name has circulated for the role of Milan's sporting director — that of Lee Congerton, a 51-year-old Welshman, currently at Al-Ahli and former head of international development in Atalanta's sporting area. Regarding this transfer market rumor, Geoffrey Moncada, current Rossoneri technical director, said to DAZN before Roma-Milan:
"Lee Congerton? I don’t know him, I haven’t heard this rumor. I can’t say anything about him."
