As part of the investigation into the betting case, Alessandro Florenzi also ended up involved, and at the end of April, he was questioned by the Milan prosecutors. Those at Calcio e Finanza reported the words of the Milan full-back to the Milanese magistrates:

“I never won by playing on those illegal platforms; the few winnings went to offset the debt, so I never withdrew any money. Even if I had won, I have no idea how the payment would have occurred—whether in cash or through watches. I had self-excluded because I was playing too much, and after a couple of months, when I had a serious injury, I fell back into gambling. I used to ask Sandro Tonali how much I wanted to be loaded onto the site to play, and when I then lost, Sandro would always send me the invoice and tell me how to pay."
Florenzi continued:
"I never bet on football; I made bets on other sports like tennis. Also for this reason, I was not sanctioned by the Federation.”
