Milan is really close to adding Igli Tare to the club’s organizational structure.
“The latest phone calls were decisive" as per Corriere dello Sport. The communications between the parties led to a virtual handshake between Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and the former Lazio executive. In the coming hours, the final meeting is also scheduled for the contract signing, which should be for three years (there is also the idea of a two-year deal with an option for a third season.

The origin of this choice was not so straightforward. The Rome-based newspaper further explains:
"In recent hours, Milan made another attempt for Atalanta’s Tony D’Amico, but the refusal of the Bergamo club to let its sporting director leave led Furlani to choose Tare. The Albanian had been contacted in February and had already held a meeting with Ibrahimovic and Cardinale in London, then he was put on standby for a long period. Later, there was another meeting with the Rossoneri CEO in April, followed by recent phone calls. In the meantime, Milan explored and spoke with other sporting directors, from Berta to Paratici, especially focusing on D’Amico. Tare waited for the call for months; his desire to get on the Milan train was decisive, and in the end, the Rossoneri club chose him. Now all that’s needed is to prepare the formal aspect to conclude the operation."
