And one of the first things the new Milan executive will have to do is resist the pressure from Manchester City, who want Tijjani Reijnders. The Rossoneri club’s revival cannot begin with the sale of the team's best player from the just-concluded season.
In the pre-match of Milan-Monza, CEO Giorgio Furlani reassured Milan fans that the club does not need to sacrifice a top player:
“The sacrifice of a big name? I would focus on what we need to strengthen, because it’s clear there were also mistakes in the squad planning. The way we are managed, sacrifices won’t be necessary.”
