Max Allegri is back. Eleven years after his last time in charge of the Rossoneri, and with two successful spells in charge of Juventus, Milan embraces once again the coach of the 18th Scudetto. The coach from Livorno, yesterday afternoon, in the offices of his agent Giovanni Branchini, met with the top executives of the club and signed his new contract. Furlani, Tare were present, and Scaroni also stopped by. A signing that comes right after that of the new Albanian sporting director and sets the path for Milan's future.
48 hours
Massimiliano Allegri has signed a two-year contract with options for extension for both a third and fourth year. The coach's salary, one of the crucial points, will be around 5.5 million plus bonuses. Milan secured the coach’s agreement in a very short time, about 48 hours: the credit, writes Corriere dello Sport this morning, goes entirely to the new sporting director Igli Tare who, as soon as he took office, launched an unrelenting push toward the coach, explaining a revival project that places Allegri at the center. Max received guarantees on the transfer market: he will have a say in everything and will take part in decisions regarding arrivals and departures. The official announcement is expected in the coming hours.
Glimmer of hope for Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez under Allegri
Allegri has received reassurances about the transfer market, and reinforcements in defense will arrive. In general, the coach will start phone calls with his new players in the coming hours: there will be room for introductions but, above all, to explain that Milan's project aims to become competitive again. For this reason too, the hope, according to Corriere dello Sport, is to recover Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, whose contracts expire next year and whose futures are uncertain. Allegri’s charisma and stature could convince the two Frenchmen. Tare will obviously play his part and make an attempt: now that the coach has been found, in the coming days the dossiers of the two players will be revisited and an attempt will be made to reopen negotiations. In general, the one furthest from Milanello remains Theo Hernandez.
