With the sale of Mike Maignan to Chelsea, which could be finalized very soon given that the Blues would like to bring him to the Club World Cup, Milan already has in mind who could eventually replace him: the preferred option is Mile Svilar, Roma’s goalkeeper, while the alternative is Vanja Milinkovic-Savic of Torino, a decidedly more economical option since he costs half as much as the Giallorosso.

Decisive hours for Milan and Maignan's future
This was reported this morning by Tuttosport, which explains that these are decisive hours for Maignan’s departure: in fact, Chelsea is expected to raise its offer because the 15 million euros currently on the table are not enough. The English club must reach at least 18–20 million euros and thus get closer to the Rossoneri’s request of 23 million. However, things must move quickly if the London club wants to bring the Frenchman to the United States for the Club World Cup: the registration window for the tournament closes at midnight tomorrow.
The hunt for a placement is ongoing...
Massimiliano Allegri, it’s no secret, would like to keep him, but Maignan wants to change teams and has been pushing for days for the move to Chelsea. For this reason, Milan is already working to find a replacement: the first name on the list is Mile Svilar, whose contract renewal with Roma is still far from being finalized. His agents have already met with Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare, who put a five-year deal worth 3.3 million euros per year on the table to try to convince the 1999-born player to move to Milan. The problem, however, is Roma’s demand: they are asking for 40 million euros. The more economical alternative, since he costs half (he has a release clause of 20 million euros), is Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, whose agent is Mateja Kezman, with whom Tare has had excellent relations since 2015, when he brought the older brother Sergej to Lazio. The Torino goalkeepeer has reportedly already given his approval to the move to the Rossoneri (a four-year contract is ready).
