This summer, Milan's center-forward department will undergo a true revolution: Tammy Abraham will not be redeemed and will return to Roma, Luka Jovic will not renew his contract, while Francesco Camarda will go out on loan. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Santiago Gimenez, who arrived for over 30 million euros in January, because Massimiliano Allegri has asked the club for a top-level striker. Therefore, if one arrives, the Mexican would remain as a backup center-forward.

Allegri vs Conte

This was reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport, which explains that among the players targeted by Milan is Darwin Núñez, the Liverpool striker who is also highly appreciated by Napoli. A transfer market duel between Allegri and Conte is therefore on the horizon, with both aiming to bring in a major new striker. The Reds’ valuation is quite high: 60 million euros, while the salary shouldn't be a major issue since the Uruguayan could “settle” for a contract worth 5 million euros per season.

Not up to expectations...

Napoli have been tracking Darwin Núñez for some time, and now he has forcefully entered Milan's wish list as well. His spell at Liverpool hasn’t lived up to expectations, especially considering he was bought for 100 million euros (including bonuses) by the Reds in the summer of 2022 from Benfica: 143 appearances and 40 goals across all competitions. The season that just ended was perhaps his most difficult (just 7 goals in 47 matches), and for this reason, it seems the time has come for a change of club.
