Maurizio Sarri, a little over a year after his resignation, has returned to sit on the Lazio bench. The Italian coach was convinced by president Claudio Lotito to get back in the saddle at the Biancocelesti bench after a season that started brightly but ended with several shadows under Marco Baroni. The former Napoli, Chelsea, and Juventus manager gave an exclusive interview to Sportitalia, and among the topics discussed was also the possible arrival of Luka Modric in Serie A.
Maurizio Sarri’s not-so-positive take on Luka Modric’s potential arrival in Serie A at Milan:
“I think that Paris Saint-Germain gave a lesson to everyone this year. They stopped building the usual team of sticker-book stars and focused on young, motivated players full of talent. And with a group that seemed scaled-down compared to the past, they managed to win precisely where they had always failed.”
