The Milan–Leverkusen axis has been quite active since the end of the 2024/25 season, especially since Igli Tare became the new sporting director of Milan. In recent weeks, the Rossoneri have managed to secure the approval of Granit Xhaka for a three-year deal worth 4 million euros per year plus bonuses, while in the opposite direction there has been talk of a possible return to Germany for former Schalke 04 player Malick Thiaw, as a replacement for Jonathan Tah, who joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
Jarrel Quansah is the turning point
None of that, because in the past few hours, the Leverkusen side have made the decisive move for Jarrell Quansah, an English defender born in 2003 who plays for Liverpool: price tag 30 million euros, with an additional 5 million in bonuses. Fabrizio Romano also reveals a buy-back clause in favor of the Reds, who would thus retain the initiative. A deal that partially offsets the moves of Frimpong and Wirtz to Anfield, totaling almost 200 million euros between the two.
What about AC Milan's Malick Thiaw?
Thiaw, for the moment, remains at Milan: the German was close to leaving during the 2024/25 season, which he spent mostly on the sidelines behind Tomori, Gabbia, and Pavlovic. However, according to reports, Massimiliano Allegri appreciates his profile and would like to try to relaunch him at the beginning of his second spell on the Rossoneri bench.
