The tweet from last night by Gianluca Di Marzio, which mentioned a Bayer Leverkusen ready to let Granit Xhaka go for around 8–10 million, was not appreciated by Simon Rolfes, the Sporting Director of the Bundesliga club. The executive, speaking exclusively to Kicker, stated:
"There has been and there is no negotiation with Milan for Granit Xhaka, nor do we have any intention of selling him. Granit is a very important player for us."
Kicker, in an article by Stephan von Nocks, adds that the information they have leads them to say that Xhaka's transfer to Milan will not happen, also because the Swiss player still has a residual book value of 12 million euros: below this figure, Leverkusen would incur a capital loss.
