When Igli Tare sat down with the press in recent days, he spoke more or less clearly about the transfer strategies that Milan will try to follow. Among the guidelines proposed by the Albanian director, there is also the profile of the new striker: the search is for a “Giroud-type” profile, a penalty-area striker who has characteristics that are different from and complementary to those of Santi Gimenez. Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports several potential names, headed by that of Viktor Gyökeres, who would be the dream of the Milan management.

Milan's dream...
This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport puts forward a name defined as Milan’s “midsummer night’s dream”: 27-year-old Viktor Gyökeres, Swedish striker of Sporting Club Lisbon, who has scored a ton of goals over the last two seasons. Considering the price, the desire to compete at high levels (with Milan out of Europe), and the club’s financial availability, it seems more like a forbidden dream. The striker is at odds with the Portuguese club because, according to his version of events, there was an agreement to let him leave this summer for an offer of €60 million; instead, the Portuguese side is asking for a much higher amount. Is Milan really willing to spend something in the region of €75 million for the striker, even considering possible sales that could ensure greater liquidity? As of today, it seems difficult.
Who else is on Milan's list?
For this reason, Milan has a long list of options so that, as the weeks go by, the most favorable situation to pursue will emerge. The names of the Serbians Mitrovic and Vlahovic have been mentioned, whom Tare went to observe with the national team; the name of Darwin Nunez, who is wanted by Napoli and set to leave Liverpool, has also been included; Mateo Retegui has not been ruled out either, and according to La Gazzetta, he is the only one among these top names still holding his place in the front row. There are also other alternatives: Gonçalo Ramos of PSG, Samu Aghehowa of Porto, Breel Embolo of Monaco, Vangelis Pavlidis of Benfica, the young Emanuel Emegha of Strasbourg, as well as Demirovic of Stuttgart and Dovbyk of Roma. An endless list in which Tare will have to skillfully navigate, although the intention is clear: to buy a striker for Allegri.
