Darwin Nunez, a forward on his way out of Liverpool, is Napoli's main target to strengthen the attacking department and provide Romelu Lukaku with an alternative. AC Milan had also shown interest in the Uruguayan striker, as they are looking for another forward following Tammy Abraham’s return to Roma at the end of his loan.

But as Matteo Moretto explained on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, compared to Napoli, the Rossoneri are very much on the sidelines, given Liverpool’s high demands for the 1999-born player’s transfer fee.
These are the words of the journalist and transfer market expert:
"I had told you exclusively that Milan was one of the clubs that asked for information about Darwin Nunez, in addition to Napoli, which is clearly further ahead. But De Laurentiis’ club has not yet found the basis for an agreement with Liverpool."
Moretto continued to talk about Darwin Nunez:
"The two clubs are in discussions, but as of today, there has been no progress in this regard. Always keep an eye on the name of Lorenzo Lucca for Napoli. As for Milan, despite a strong appreciation for Nunez, from a financial standpoint it is an almost unworkable path, hardly achievable."
