After a disappointing 2024-25 campaign that saw them finish eighth and miss European qualification, the Rossoneri are under pressure to deliver. With new signings, a revamped coaching staff, and a challenging AC Milan schedule, fans are eager for a turnaround.

For those looking to unwind amidst the football fever, trying out sweet bonanza could be a fun distraction. This article explores the AC Milan standings prospects for the 2025-26 season, delving into key factors that could shape their performance.

A season of redemption:

The 2024-25 season was a low point for AC Milan, marked by fan protests and a lackluster eighth-place finish, as pointed out by Reuters. The appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as head coach, alongside sporting director Igli Tare, signals a return to a pragmatic, defense-first approach. Allegri’s experience, having led Milan to the 2011 Scudetto, offers hope, but his recent struggles at Juventus raise concerns about his ability to adapt to a modern squad. The AC Milan standings in the upcoming season will hinge on whether Allegri can blend his tactical discipline with the flair of the club’s young players.

Transfer market moves:

The summer transfer window has been transformative for AC Milan. AC Milan news highlights the verbal agreement with Luka Modric, a six-time Champions League winner, to join on a one-year deal, bringing leadership and experience. Granit Xhaka’s potential arrival from Bayer Leverkusen could bolster the midfield, though a transfer fee is yet to be finalized. However, the club faces challenges with departures: Tijjani Reijnders, who left to Manchester City, while Yunus Musah is reportedly close to leaving with Napoli and a few English clubs interested. The loss of Theo Hernandez to Al-Hilal and interest in Malick Thiaw from Como add defensive concerns. New signings in defence are needed.

The attack must also be reinforced as Santiago Gimenez is the only player available right now after the exits of Luka Jovic (on a free), Tammy Abraham (returning to Roma after the loan), and Camarda (to Lecce to gain more experience, on a buy-option and a buy-back option for Milan).

Tactical outlook and key players

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri’s preferred 4-3-3 formation, as pointed out by the media, will rely on compact midfield play and individual brilliance from AC Milan players like Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic. Leao, who led the team with 20 goals last season, and Pulisic, with 15 assists, are expected to drive the attack. The midfield overhaul, however, with exits like Reijnders, could disrupt cohesion. Defensively, Mike Maignan’s stunning performances remain a cornerstone, though his potential departure was narrowly avoided. The AC Milan standings will depend on balancing these attacking talents with Allegri’s defensive structure.

The 2025-26 schedule: opportunities and challenges:

The AC Milan schedule for 2025-26 is a mixed bag. In fact, the Serie A campaign starts at home against Cremonese, offering a chance to build early momentum, but a tough stretch from Matchdays 3-7 pits Milan against Bologna, Napoli, Juventus, and Fiorentina. The Derby della Madonnina against Inter on Matchdays 12 and 28 will be pivotal, with Inter’s important run last season setting a high bar. A mixed end to the season, with matches in May against the likes of Sassuolo, Atalanta, Genoa, and Cagliari could help Allegri's team secure a series of important and positive results in a row and end the campaign on a good note.
