AC Milan is once again ready to invest again in order to strengthen their midfield. After signing Samuele Ricci from Torino for €23 million plus bonuses, and after investing in Luka Modric’s salary—brought in as a free agent following his long and successful stint at Real Madrid—the Rossoneri are now prepared to make a significant investment to acquire Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge.
This has been officially confirmed by the new AC Milan sporting director, Igli Tare, during the press conference introducing Massimiliano Allegri.
“His desire is clear: he wants to play for this team. But right now, we have to respect the dynamics of another club with whom he is under contract. We believe we’ve made a great offer, also out of respect for the history of the club and Belgian football. I hope this story ends happily—for both Milan and the player,” said Tare.
- The Numbers:
€35 million plus bonuses—making it the most expensive signing under Gerry Cardinale’s ownership of Milan. But will it be enough?
Who is Ardon Jashari?
Born in 2002 in Cham, the midfielder currently plays for Club Brugge and is of Albanian descent. He has spent virtually his entire career in Switzerland. After spells at FC Baar and Zug 94, he joined Luzern in 2013 and stayed until 2022. His professional debut came in the summer of 2020, and by summer 2024, he took a major leap in his career: from the Swiss Super League to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
Club Brugge signed him for €6 million—a record sale for Luzern. Just one season was enough to convince Milan. In that time, he made 35 appearances, scored 3 goals, and—most importantly—demonstrated great consistency and substance. He helped Brugge finish second in the league and reach the Champions League Round of 16. These performances earned him both the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards in the Jupiler Pro League.

He has been part of the Swiss national team since September 2022, though he has yet to establish himself as a leader and key figure.
Technical and tactical analysis:
Jashari is a complete midfielder—capable in both build-up and ball-winning phases. Standing at 181 cm, he combines excellent passing skills with vision and construction ability. He thrives in dominant-possession football and is not just a holding midfielder, but also a box-to-box type.
At Brugge, he frequently played as the second pivot alongside Raphael Onyedika in a double-pivot setup, or as a lone defensive midfielder in a midfield three. He is highly effective with progressive passes and long balls, consistently ranking among the top five in the league for these metrics—particularly in finding central depth.
