In addition to the main headline dedicated to tennis and Jannik Sinner—who advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals after Grigor Dimitrov’s retirement—La Gazzetta dello Sport also covers football on its front page today. The top section is dedicated to Milan, which, after presenting Massimiliano Allegri as their new coach, is now pushing hard to sign Guéla Doué, a 2002-born French-Ivorian player currently at Strasbourg:
“Milan makes a splash,” the paper reads. “Max off to a roaring start and an offer for Doué. Also targeting the Strasbourg full-back.”
The Rossoneri have reportedly made an offer of 15 million euros.
Yesterday, Max Allegri introduced himself in a press conference as follows:
“Since I arrived, we started working together with the director and all the club’s departments. To achieve results, we need to be a united front, all heading in the same direction, sharing responsibility towards a club as important as Milan. We discuss things daily, with the director and other staff members. This is the beginning of a fantastic adventure—I’m very happy and excited. I’ve returned to Milan, where I’ve found many familiar faces and many new ones, which gives me extra motivation: meeting new people creates a completely different kind of focus.”
