After the official announcement in recent hours, Theo Hernandez said goodbye to Milan and its fans with a long, emotional, and in some ways even polemical, post on his social media channels:
"After six years at this club, the time has come to say goodbye. I arrived at Milan in 2019 with dreams, desire, and the enthusiasm of wearing a shirt full of history. Today I leave after having lived unforgettable moments, like the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup victory, and above all after sharing the dressing room with extraordinary people. Heartfelt thanks to my teammates, to every coach who believed in me, and in particular to Paolo Maldini, for his closeness, vision, and leadership. And thanks to the Rossoneri supporters, who were always present, in good times and in difficult ones. Feeling your support was a privilege I will never forget and will carry forever in my heart."

Theo added:
"My decision to leave was not easy. I have always known where I wanted to be, and Milan has always been my priority. But unfortunately, not everything depends on one person. The direction the club has taken and some recent decisions do not reflect the values nor the ambition that brought me here. It is time to close one chapter and start another, different, but just as important to me. I leave with my head held high, because I always gave everything for this club, committing myself to the fullest and sharing the same dreams as this fanbase."
Theo concluded:
"I leave with a full heart, and with the hope that Milan will very soon return to the place it deserves. Milan will always be a part of me. Forza Milan Always."
