AC Milan are working tirelessly to overhaul their squad and provide Massimiliano Allegri with the best possible team ahead of next season, which will see the Rossoneri not competing in European competitions. Among the many positions that the management and sporting director Igli Tare are planning to change is that of the backup goalkeeper. Milan are rapidly closing in on an agreement to bring in a new shot-stopper to serve as Mike Maignan’s deputy.
Milan are set to change their reserve goalkeeper behind captain Mike Maignan: the Rossoneri are in fact extremely close to securing Pietro Terracciano, Fiorentina’s goalkeeper, who will replace Marco Sportiello. Sportiello is expected to return to Atalanta, where he will be the backup to Marco Carnesecchi and will also be useful to the club for registration list purposes in European competitions (Atalanta will play in the Champions League).

Pietro Terracciano to AC Milan? Here are the details of the agreement
There is already an agreement between Milan and Terracciano: as revealed by Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have prepared a two-year contract (until June 30, 2027), which the Fiorentina goalkeeper will sign, earning a salary of around €800,000 per season. This is a slight decrease from his current wage of €900,000 in Florence. It’s a clear sign of his willingness to embrace Allegri's project , leaving Tuscany and his role as De Gea’s deputy at Fiorentina. Terracciano is now just a step away from Milan, with his medical tests possibly taking place as early as this week.
Is AC Milan's Marco Sportiello on his way to Atalanta?
Meanwhile, talks are ongoing for Sportiello’s return to Atalanta. He is under contract with Milan until June 30, 2027. Sportiello is set to be Carnesecchi’s backup and has opted for a return to Bergamo over a move to Cremonese, who were also highly interested in the goalkeeper. His return is now just a matter of time: Sportiello is expected to terminate his contract with Milan and rejoin La Dea.
