Massimiliano Allegri is already starting to study the first line-ups ahead of the Asian tour: puzzle on the defensive flanks, with Saelemaekers and Pobega emerging as possible solutions.
The full-back situation at Milan is still far from being resolved. With Theo Hernandez having departed and the potential arrivals of Archie Brown (officially signed by Fenerbahce) and Maxim De Cuyper (headed to Brighton) having faded, the Rossoneri are examining all possible solutions to identify the right signing who can give Allegri an extra weapon on the defensive wings.
There are many names noted in the notebook of sporting director Igli Tare (from Guela Doué to Miguel Gutierrez, including Marc Pubill), considering that – at the moment – the only players in the squad who naturally play in that role are: Emerson Royal (who also has a market in Spain and is on the list of players for sale this summer), Alex Jimenez, and Davide Bartesaghi.
With the Asian tour approaching, coach Allegri is studying which options to deploy for the first friendlies of the year: according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri coach seems to have identified Alexis Saelemaekers – on the right, and secured by the ex Juventus head coach, and Tommaso Pobega, on the left, although still likely to leave Milan – as the two players to move a few meters back and adapt to those positions.
