Il Giornale on newsstands this morning headlines:
"Modric writes the manifesto of the Milan that must be."
The words spoken by the Croatian champion in his first interview as a Rossoneri player could become the footballing manifesto of Massimiliano Allegri's team:
"Why did I choose Milan? I wanted to stay in Europe to continue playing competitive football. I had other offers, but when Milan called, it was clear to me. I wanted it from the very first moment.
I was also impressed by the fact that sporting director Tare came to Croatia to present the project and everything about Milan to me. That was very important for me—it showed me how much they wanted to bring me here. And Milan is one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Milan cannot be satisfied with mediocrity; we must set the highest possible goals: to win titles and compete with the best teams in the world. That’s why I’m here."
