Massimo Oddo, coach of Milan Futuro, spoke about the technical project:
On the Milan Futuro project:
“In football, people often talk about projects. Our first team has a project aimed at winning, whereas our goal is different — it's about trying to improve these young players as much as possible, players who one day might reach the first team," he told the Rossoneri club's official channel.
"Our focus is working with young talents, and maybe for a coach that's the most beautiful thing, because you get to see them grow and improve. The greatest satisfaction for someone who coaches these kids is to one day see them in the first team — just like it happened with Camarda, Bartesaghi, and Liberali."
"If a youngster makes it all the way to the first team, it’s thanks to the entire path they’ve taken through the youth system, starting from the grassroots level and going through the various youth categories.”
On Milan Futuro’s objectives, Oddo added:
“Today in football, we coaches are very tied to results. But Milan Futuro exists to develop young players. Playing in an Under-23 team means facing physical, technical, and mental characteristics that you simply don’t encounter in youth competitions — because you’re playing against players who, for example, have a different kind of cunning and experience that you only find in senior football. Camarda struggled quite a bit at the start of last season playing in Serie C, but by the end, he became a player who made the difference at that level.”
